UnitWise Spotlight|Sending an Email Marketing Campaign

The holiday season is just around the corner! Decking the halls, fixing delicious meals, and arranging for family get-togethers are already in the planning phase. But what’s the plan to get your customers in-the-know about all of your Mary Kay holiday collections? Well, the UnitWise Heroes are here with an idea—try our email marketing feature!

We specifically designed the UnitWise Email Marketing feature to help our users promote their Mary Kay business—and it’s as simple as writing an email. You can send a message to one person, a particular group, or to everyone all at once. And one of the best perks is that no one else knows who the email was sent to, keeping your Unit’s and customers’ personal information safe & secure. But that’s not all! With the email marketing feature, you can schedule when you want emails to be sent. Whether it’s immediate, on someone’s birthday, or even a year in advance, you can do it with UnitWise. It’s just another way to show we really care!

The UnitWise Email Marketing Feature

On your UnitWise dashboard, click on the “Marketing” tab located on the menu bar at the top of the screen.


From there, select the “Email Marketing” icon.




A quick view of all your previously sent emails will appear. On the upper, right-hand corner of the screen, select the “Create Email Marketing” tab.

From here, you’ll have the options to name your campaign, select the desired template, write a subject, pick the date, and choose the desired recipient(s). After that, simply compose your email, and either send it immediately or schedule it for a later day. It’s that easy!




So as you can see, keeping your Unit and customers in the holiday loop is easier than ever with the UnitWise Email Marketing feature. One of the best parts about having a Mary Kay business is hosting parties! As Mary Kay says, you can expect “Fabulous Friends & Fun.” It’s true! At these parties, you learn about a variety of products, how to create different looks, and how to choose the best makeup for your beautiful features.

As an Independent Beauty Consultant, you are an expert when it comes to makeup and skincare options. And, we’re here with some advice to help you throw the best Mary Kay party ever! It all comes down to location, location, location.

Event Size and Space

The first aspect you must know before holding a successful party is how many people are attending. Once you know the numbers, you can pick a venue that will comfortably accommodate all of your guests. You don’t want people bumping into one another when they’re trying to make the perfect cat-eye with the Mary Kay Eyeliner.

Travel Distance

Before selecting the final venue for your party, take into consideration its physical location. Is it in a convenient place for all of your guests? Is it a far drive away from town? Don’t make your party-goers spend more money on gas than on products. Make your party location centralized!  Also, if you have people visiting from out of town, offer some ideas for hotels and restaurants.

Luxury and Amenities

You probably don’t stick around at an event if you’re uncomfortable—and your guests don’t want to either. To make sure you offer great amenities and give your party a luxurious feel, here’s some advice.
  • Serve food and drinks
  • Provide plenty of comfortable seating
  • Have plenty of space for people to move around and socialize
  • If it’s hot outside, keep the space cool. If it’s cold, make sure it’s nice and toast

Here at UnitWise, we’ve been working hard to put together a collection of game-day makeup for you to share with your customers. But did you know that you can do the same on your UnitWise account? Creating a collection and keeping track of it in your UnitWise inventory is simple—we promise!

How-to Guide

We provide you with the option to add as many product collections as you want to your UnitWise inventory. So impress your customers with your new fall Product Bundle, today!

  • Click on the “Inventory” tab on your UnitWise dashboard.
  • Select “Products” from the drop down menu.
  • From there, you’ll be able to view a snapshot of your products, as well as add, organize, and view your inventory history.
  • Select the “Add Product” icon located on the right-hand side of the page.



  • From there, select the box labeled “Product Collection?” to begin.


Now you can start building and adding to your collection by choosing products from your inventory. After you’re done being creative, choose the quantity, set the price, make it a hot seller, and keep track of how many you sell! Pretty easy, right?

The My WebSite Feature

On your UnitWise dashboard, click on the “Social Media” tab located on the menu bar at the top of the screen.





From there, select the “My WebSite” icon.

Here you can choose the theme that fits your business style, add an unlimited amount of web pages, spruce up your business content with your own personal touch, and so much more.


  • Theme: We provide over 60 various themes and website templates. From seasonal themes to stars and pearls, we give you the option to choose your favorite. If you want to make all of the designs yourself, we even give you the option to do that with the blank template.
  • Design: Not sure if you’re a fan of the current background of your site? No problem: you can upload any background image that fits your business better.
  • Add: Like to think of yourself as an organizational pro? We like those; that’s why we provide you with the choice to make as many web pages you wish for your site. Create a page about you, a blog, how-to guides, training material, and tips for your Unit members, etc. We make it unlimited so you can stay connected with your Unit!
  • General Settings: We provide you with the options to design your website layout, along with the wording, font, and colors. Customize your website exactly how you would like it to look. We also give you the option to link your personal website/shopping site to your UnitWise WebSite.
  • Payment Hub: Is your payment hub set up in UnitWise? If so, you can direct your client’s to visit your UnitWise WebSite and have them make payments to their open invoices. It’s that easy!

I bet Alexander Graham Bell (and most others) would be shocked to hear that written words—emails and text messages—are used more to communicate with others than his beloved invention, the telephone. It’s a technology-riddled world, and people love their smartphones—us included. But we know that nothing beats picking up the phone and making a call to our loyal UnitWise members.

So, take our advice and give Bell’s invention the recognition it deserves. Call your Unit members instead of emailing them. It will help your business, we promise! Here’s how we know! 

Solve Problems, Faster

Think of the last time you had to solve a problem quickly. Did you talk on the phone or did you send a message? I’m assuming you picked up the phone. Calling people is typically better than sending an email because it can help solve a problem quicker and more efficiently. An email can get lost in the mainstream of the internet or remain in an inbox unopened for several days. With a call, you can make sharing information more personal, as well as talk about the possible answers and conclusions without having to wait. 

No Miscommunication

Nothing can handle complex, technical, or sensitive conversations better than a phone call. A phone call minimizes the unnecessary confusion that can sometimes attach itself to drawn out email exchanges. Also, a phone call helps with emotional intelligence. Unlike text messages and emails, speaking to someone on the phone lets you hear the tone and intonation of their voice. It can mean the difference between thinking someone is insulting you and knowing that he or she is just joking. 

Reactive Responses

Are you guilty of not responding to an email as soon as you received it? I know I am! I like to give myself time to think about my reply, before actually sitting down to write one. Emails and text messages offer us that buffer to think thoroughly about what we wish to say before saying it. However, we sometimes hide and take the higher ground behind our emails, making the bark worse than the bite. A phone call, however, provides us with immediate exchanges and responses that push us to be proactive and to solve problems. 

Building Relationships

Although you can get to know somebody through an email exchange, there is something special about hearing someone’s voice on the phone and knowing they aren’t a robot. We make it a priority to give all of our users courtesy calls just to see how things are going. Tips & Tricks | Five Ways to Stay Organized (in Life and in the Office)

Have you ever forgotten an important phone number or a meeting with your Units? Do you have a desk that’s cluttered with sticky notes of things to do? If you’re guilty of any of these ‘lack of organization’ offenses, don’t panic; the UnitWise Heroes are here to help. We have five creative ways to help you get organized, nixing the scattered brain forever.

1. Chunk The Junk

We all do it. We keep things that we think our future self will find useful. The items are slipped into a box or a vacant drawer, but never looked at again. Well, it’s time to escape this vicious cycle and CHUNK THE JUNK. The easiest way to begin is by making separate piles to sort your items into: toss, keep, and donate. Trust me, you’ll never need the instructions to your printer (most instructions are in digital form.) Throw it away and reduce the clutter.

UnitWise can help you organize all your leads’ information, your business calendar, your inventory list, and much more. When you get rid of the paper clutter that surrounds your desk, your productivity will skyrocket.

2. Become Magneto

Buying magnet strips and a magnetic board can be the best investment for organizing your office. Wondering where I’m going with this? Well, I’ll tell you. Instead of having your supplies scattered in jars on your desk, stick them to a board with magnets. You’ll still have easy access to your supplies, but your desk will be clear of distractions. This is a cheap DIY project that can make a huge difference in the organization of your workspace.

3. Inventory Shelf

Do you have you Mary Kay inventory spread throughout your office? Whenever you’re searching for a specific item in your collection, do you have to sort through boxes and bags? Well, building or buying an inventory shelf can be your saving grace. Grouping items and storing them in plain site can make the difference between losing inventory and making a quick sale. Ready to build? Here’s how to create a simple bookcase:

Ladder Bookshelf

Try your hand at constructing this ladder bookshelf that can bring a unique piece of furniture to your room and keep you organized.

What You’ll Need


  • A- Frame Ladder
  • Wood planks
  • Paint (optional)

How To Do It
  1. Open the ladder and position it where you would like your inventory shelf to be located
  2. Paint the ladder and wooden planks (optional)
  3. Slide the wooden planks horizontally into the ladder, letting them rest on the steps
  4. Stand back and admire!

Wasn’t too difficult or time consuming, right?

4. Stop Trying to Multitask

It can’t be done. Multitasking and producing high quality work is almost impossible to do. Now, I’m not suggesting that you can’t drink a cup of coffee and talk on the phone with a client, but, can you talk on the phone with a client and email a member of your unit simultaneously? I think not. Our brains aren’t able to give our undivided attention to two projects. So stop trying. Instead of multitasking, manage your day. Turn your attention to invoices, bills, and emails two times daily, and give your bigger work more attention. Allotting your time will help make you more organized. No time to be scatterbrained when you don’t schedule it.

5. Using UnitWise
