UnitWise Prayer Call: "Spending Your Time Wisely"

Today, the Heroes at UnitWise hosted our 3rd annual Prayer Call & Devotional with Rev. Roger Brown. Roger serves as lead pastor of Westerly Hills Church in Fort Mill, SC and he is also one of the very first Heroes at UnitWise.

On behalf of all the members of the UnitWise Family who made requests for another Prayer Call, we would like to thank Rev. Brown for volunteering his time for this conference call.  

Rev. Brown focused on the subject of Time & how we spend it.  Roger shared some staggering statistics of how much time we spend on certain activities over the course of our life.  Roger stated that on average by the time someone is 72 years old they will have spent: 21 Years Sleeping, 6 Years in the Car, 3 Months searching for lost items, 6 Months at Stoplights, and 8 Months going through Junk Mail.  On top of these numbers, the average Facebook user is on track to spend 11 Years of their life on Social Networks.  

These numbers are great reminders to spend our time wisely. We should all remember to organize & plan our days according to our goals & priorities. As Zig Ziglar once said: "Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days."

Mary Kay Seminar 2013

Mary Kay Seminar 2013 has begun, and for the next 2 weeks 50,000 Directors & Consultants from around the country will be travelling to attend this Major Event in Dallas, Texas.  

This year's Seminar is quite the celebration.  Not only is Mary Kay celebrating it's 50th Anniversary, it also announced this morning that it is now 3 Million Strong.  On Monday, July 22nd, Mary Kay posted across various social media platforms: "Today, we are honored to announce that there are now 3 MILLION Independent Beauty Consultants around the world! What a beautiful testament to Mary Kay Ash’s dream and our Company’s mission to enrich women’s lives!"  (Adding the hashtag: #MKSeminar)

This Seminar will definitely be the most watched Seminar thanks not only to the sheer volume of people attending, but also because of the incorporation of the Hashtag across multiple Social Networks.  Now, Directors and Consultants can tag their tweets, photos, videos, and status updates with #MKSeminar to share their experience with their friends who may not be attending as well as the entire Mary Kay community online.

Email Marketing Tips - Part Two

Sending Email Marketing Campaigns with UnitWise can be a great way to stay in touch with your clients, team members, preferred customers, etc.  In order for your email campaigns to be successful, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Include a Call To Action
Although not every email is about selling something, there should be a clear goal or purpose of the email.  This Call to Action should be connected to your subject line in some way.  For Example, you could add a link to your website, blog, Facebook, etc that your reader could go to see more information and make an action based on the email.

Communicate Efficiently
When writing an email, there is no need to change your writing style as if you were writing a textbook.  Instead, you should communicate as you would in a casual conversation.  A good test is to read the email to yourself aloud to see how it sounds. 

Keep Your Message Simple
Keeping your readers engaged is vital in order to prevent your emails from being deleted.  Successful emails should not be unnecessarily wordy or complicated.  Keep in mind that you have high competition for your readers' attention.

Be A Resource
In order to gain your readers' respect, you need to provide valuable information, whatever that may be.  Readers will quickly loose interest if your emails become predictable or lack useful information.

Email Marketing Tips - Part One

Sending Email Marketing Campaigns with UnitWise can be a great way to stay in touch with your clients, team members, preferred customers, etc.  In order for your email campaigns to be successful, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Be Direct
Just like you, your readers are busy people who receive many emails each day.  Email inboxes can become so overloaded that many emails receive little more than a quick glance before they are deleted.  To ensure that your message is seen, you need to make sure your subject and opening line are direct and captivating.

Make it Scannable
Thanks to smartphones & tablets, people are checking their email from anywhere.  With this in mind, it is safe to assume that you don't have their undivided attention.  Instead of writing in one large chunk, divide your content into short paragraphs with individual headings.  You could also keep your emails short & sweet by adding a "Read More" link and connecting it to your UnitWise Blog or a special page on your website.

Send Content They Want
Don't just send all of your contacts the same email.  With UnitWise, we offer the ability to create unlimited contact groups.  This means that you don't have to send your Customer emails to your Unit, or vice versa.  You can create separate contact groups for customer groups, team members, contacts, and more.

Respect the Unsubscribers
If someone unsubscribes from your email marketing, or sends an email asking to be removed from your list, make sure that they are opted-out of email contact via UnitWise.  This can be done individually from the Customer Center or from the Bulk Edit Page.  Continuing to send unwarranted emails to people who have requested to be unsubscribed is a violation of Anti-Spam laws.

Happy Independence Day!

For the Independence Day holiday on July 4th, we will be offering limited customer support.  Our team of heroes will be spending some time with their families and providing email support on an emergency basis.
