Meet Our NSD's: Pam Klickna-Powell
Pam Klickna-Powell is a Sales Director for the Klickna-Powell National Area. I recently had the opportunity to talk with her about her experience with Mary Kay.
When did you first get involved in Mary Kay?
-March of 1979. I was teaching art classes and I had just had a baby. I could have used some additional income.
What was the moment in which you became not only involved in Mary Kay, but Passionate about Mary Kay?
-We have a saying that first you get into Mary Kay, and Then Mary Kay gets into you. For me this moment came when I realized that it was about changing lives, not just faces.
How have you been inspired by the life of Mary Kay Ash?
-I try to carry on her legacy. She had such a beautiful heart, and a gift for making people feel special. Like Mary Kay, I want to help other women discover the greatness inside of them.
How has your life changed since getting involved in Mary Kay?
-It has been a total transformation. I now have a wonderful feeling of fulfillment. I have greatly enjoyed the fabulous trips, new opportunities, and watching others grow and blossom.
What is your favorite part of being involved in Mary Kay?
-Ever since I was a teacher, I have wanted to be able to make a difference in peoples lives.
How has the Internet changed the way you do business?
-Everything has become fast paced. It is so much easier now to reach people and spread news and ideas.
How much time do you spend online each day?
-About one hour. I prefer as much one-on-one contact as possible.
What is your preferred way of contacting your unit?
-I prefer as much personal meetings as possible, although other ways may be faster.
What have you found to be the most effective social media tool for your business?
-Facebook. I try to update my page at least once each day. It is a great way to stay connected with my Unit. I find that many of my younger consultants heavily utilize it.
How would you describe the balance between your work and personal life?
-I Love The Balance! You have to work hard, but you can choose who you work with. I have found that because of the great Integrity of the women I get to work with each day, it is like spending the day with your friends.
What are your keys to success?
-Balance of Passion and Work Ethic
-Work Consistently
-Be Proactive
-Remember that Good is the enemy of Great
-Ask yourself "What can I do today to bring about my goal and move forward?"
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

-Skiing with my family
-All Outdoor Activities

-Traveling to New Places
What do you think about UnitWise?
-I Love my Website! I am not a very technical person, but I have a new assistant who manages my UnitWise account.
What Motivates/ Inspires You?
-Watching women fulfill their potential, and step into greatness.
What advice would you give directors and consultants?
-People often make the mistake of selling the starter kit, and not the opportunity that comes with it. I would challenge directors and consultants to not even tell people what the kit is worth, because the value of the opportunity is so much greater.
-You need to show up to go up.
-Heavily Train New Consultants
-Find Your Passion
-Power Start will propel you forward
-Always be setting goals, but also put in the time and focus on accomplishing those goals.
