Tips & Tricks: Makeup That Stays All Day

Happy April! I have been ready for Spring since Christmas ended and the UnitWise Heroes couldn't be happier that Spring is finally here. The only downside to warmer weather is that it can cause your makeup to fade very quickly. Here are some great tips and tricks to keep your makeup looking flawless while the sun heats things up.

Primers
I am a primer junkie. I love BB creams, CC creams, matte and luminous primers; I need it all in my life. For warmer weather, I love the MK CC cream with the MK mineral foundation on top. The coverage will last me about 6-8 hours with a setting spray. If you will be outside for a long time, I would highly recommend a mattifying primer with a powder foundation. It won't cake up on you and it will keep you from becoming too oily or dewy; women dew, we do not sweat #southernwisdom.

Powder Foundations
Powder foundations are my usual go-to in warmer weather. They wear so light and keep the oil at bay. I have combination skin and get really oily in my T-zone. Powder foundations last much longer on my skin type in warmer weather than liquid because they just slide right off my oily skin. If you want some coverage that lasts for a long time and you will be outside, powder foundations really are the way to go.

Setting Sprays
If you do not have a setting spray (a good quality setting spray) in your makeup bag, girl you need to talk to your MK consultant ASAP! A good quality setting spray will be your best friend this spring and summer. It gives my powder foundation the ultimate staying power. I really do like the MK setting spray and I've repurchased it twice already. If you want to use a liquid foundation, spray your brush with setting spray before you pick up product. This will help your foundation go on smoother and help it stay all day.

Waterproof
In the warmer months I really don't like to go too crazy with makeup. I like it simple; a little creme shadow, some mascara, and a gloss. Mascara just melts off my lashes in the spring and summer, so I will use a waterproof one to make that problem disappear. The MK creme shadows last a long time on my lids too as long as I use an eye primer if I will be out in the heat for a long time.
