The 5 Best Ways to Earn That Pink Cadillac

Congratulations, Rhona George of Framingham on your new Mary Kay pink Cadillac! You have joined the ranks and earned one of Mary Kay’s greatest accomplishments.

Since 1969, the Mary Kay Company has gifted its top-selling Independent Beauty Consultants, Directors, and NSDs a career car. Although, Mary Kay Ash originally wanted a Lincoln back in 1967, the tradition of giving the most accomplished Mary Kay consultant a Mountain Laurel Sedan de Ville has happened for 46 years now.

Today, more than 6,032 Mary Kay career cars are on the road, with 1,318 being Mary Kay pink Cadillacs. So again, congratulations Rhona on an amazing accomplishment.

If you haven’t had the chance to earn yourself a career car from Mary Kay, don’t give up! The UnitWise Heroes are here with five ways to help you get into that pink Cadillac.

1. Build a Strong Team.

To get into that dream pink cadi, you’ve got to have a solid and motivated team behind you. And the only way to build a successful team is with great leadership.

To be a great leader, you’ve got to:

  • Be aware of your leadership style: Evaluate yourself and improve your leadership skills. Ask yourself, “are my styles effective?”, “is my team responding to my leadership style?”, “is my leadership helping my Unit to grow and succeed?”

  • Know the rest of your team: A good leader is someone who takes the time to get to know their Unit members and gives them encouraging advice. Care for your Unit and treat them as individuals, rather than money makers. Evaluate what each member of your Unit brings to the table, their strengths, weakness, and capabilities.

  • Acknowledge and reward good work: Although people love to be recognized, what’s most important to them is respect. Be genuine in recognizing someone’s accomplishments. When they feel you respect them and what they bring to the group, extra effort always organically follows.

2. Always Training. Always Improving.

We can always improve and do better than we did the day before. Just because we’ve worked in the business for twenty years, doesn’t mean there isn’t room for us to improve. If you wish to reach the pink Cadillac level of success, you have to admit to yourself that everyday's a new opportunity to get better and do better, which is why training is so important.

Holding training sessions with your Unit can help take your business success to new heights. Whether it’s sending out flyers and promotions, team building, building better networks, or hosting parties, there are countless ways to improve—you just have to start looking!

3. Be There and Willing to Help.

Earning a pink Cadillac takes more than just you—it’s a team effort. This advice echos that of which we just gave, reminding you to build a strong team through your leadership skills and training. But you have to be there and involved with your team for them to be successful. Take the time to reward and celebrate successes, as well as work on areas that need improvement. Your Unit can’t improve if you aren’t there to help them. So be the leader that’s always there, willing to lend a helping hand when it’s needed.

4. Be Passionate.

When you are passionate about what you do and what you want, success comes naturally. You have to have passion for the business you are in, for that passion extends to your Unit members. You’ve got to be the one that lights the fire in your Unit and motivates them every day to do their very best. When they see the passion in you, they’ll be inspired to do more. Every great leader in history has passion, for without it no one wants to join the vision. So, be passionate, get motivated, and share your vision with your Unit, today.

5. Communicate. Talk. Communicate. Talk.

Mary Kay Ash had a way to motivate people to believe in themselves, their ability, and their dreams. At UnitWise, we live by her words as our daily inspiration to do more than we did the day before. What Mary Kay Ash did so amazingly well was communicate with her company. She inspired you to want to do more and be more than what you were yesterday.

One of the surest ways to get into that pink Cadillac is to inspire your Unit members through your actions and words. But you must also listen. To be an effective communicator, you must know what to say, but you also when you need to listen. If one of your Unit members is struggling with promoting a product, listen to their needs and find ways to help them. Stay in communication with your Unit members, after all, you’re all working together to achieve success.

Like Mary Kay Ash once said, there’s no magic formula for success. And in this case, there isn’t one for achieving a pink Cadillac. It all comes down to how hard you work, how passionate you are, and how effective you are in your leadership. But remember, you’re never alone. Mary Kay is a team and you all depend on each other for success and motivation. And you also have UnitWise. We’re here to help you achieve all of your dreams, whatever they might be. So until next time, good luck and work hard for that pink Cadillac!
