The Hottest Makeup Trends for Fall 2016

You’re a director, you can’t fall behind the current makeup trends! In order to get the most sales you need to stay ahead of the curve and introduce prospective clients to the new and upcoming styles.

Also, by being in the know about which products are hot right now, you’ll know which products to add to your inventory and which products to start phasing out. Once you have the new hottest items for fall 2016, you can start hosting makeup parties to give guests hot and trendy makeovers. So, what’s in this fall?

Lip Trends

First, we need to discuss one of the most popular makeup items, lipstick. For fall 2016 lipstick pigments are getting darker, with dark shades of browns, reds, burgundies, purples, and even black.

Now, you may be thinking that purples and blacks are too dark and that stuff should be saved for Halloween, but the matte finishes actually provide an extremely chic look.

The bold, trend setters are blowing past the typical muted shades of beige and brick by wearing brown Earthy, coffee lipstick tones, like dark browns with hints of pink. The tones range from dark shades of pink to darker shades of java, with glossy shines, shimmer, and matte finishes.

To brighten up dreary, rainy fall days, fashion forward people are wearing bright shades of pastels and reds. Light pinks and bright reds have been all the rage for a while, but now it's in to wear shades of light blues, greens, and purples too.

Fall 2016 is giving you the opportunity to celebrate your natural color beauty by only wearing a coat of clear lipgloss. Your lips will be hydrated and protected while you rock the lip color that your momma gave ya!

Your Eyes

Remember that whole 90’s grunge phase? Well, even if you don’t, you’ll have a chance to relive it, because the punk look is becoming popular again with lot’s of dark eyeliner and eye shadows.

Goth eyes are taking off of runways at full steam, with even the most reputable fashionistas covering their entire eyelids with dark, grungy looking eye shadow.

Usually you hear about mascara brands that preventing clumping, but this fall is changing things. Now, twiggy, clumping eye lashes that stick together are extremely popular.

Eyeliner is being worn in new ways every day, creating trends that are catching on fast. People are wearing it with double wings, they’re tracing their eye lids and creating sharp angles that shoot upwards from the corners of their eyes. Also, they’re tracing the creases in their eyelids and drawing lines under their eye brows.

Eyes are also becoming bright and glittery with florescent shades of mascara, eyeliners, and eye shadows ranging from bright blues and to pinks to yellows, greens and purples. Blue eye lashes are taking the world by storm, and more and more rainbow eyes with multiple colors are hitting the scene with a feminine boldness that can’t be matched.

Glitter is all the rage right now, especially when it’s under your eyelids or even in your eye brows. These techniques have led to the creation of the modern smokey eye, which involves blending golden shades of yellow with greys, and lots of glitter and shimmer.
