The Best Way To Record Your CDS

The holiday season is in the air! While we are sure you’re executing your brilliantly crafted holiday sales plans strategies there is no better time to up your game. Today your friends at UnitWise are sharing how you can efficiently track customer invoices and your business expenses in one convenient location.

If you are like many other MK Consultants and Directors that ship their orders via CDS, then you probably wonder; what is the best way to record the transaction for both your customers and your Cost Of Goods... UnitWise has you covered! We have added the ability to keep track of the customer invoices and your expenses all in one transaction!

Here's how it works:

1. Create Invoice/Sales Receipt
2. Calculate Shipping and Cost of Goods
3. Select Expense Account

UnitWise Makes Holiday Sales Tracking

Step 1
Create the invoice or receipt as you usually would, but make sure to check the "Use Customer Delivery Service" box located under the customer's information.

Step 2
Calculate shipping and enter it here into the shipping field. If the cost of shipping was passed onto your customer, then leave this field at $0 and charge shipping on the customer's portion.

Step 3
The "Amount Paid to MK" field will be the wholesale product price + your shipping cost (if shipping was passed to a customer then the amount is 0) + the full retail tax amount.

Step 4
The "Pay From" Account is going to record the expense into your Chart of Accounts, merely choose which account to charge and enter the total Cost of Goods again (this will be the same amount located in the COG field).

Once your receipt is saved a Purchase Order will be automatically created to track your COG expenses incurred for this CDS Order!
