You Need Our Legendary Customer Management Tool

Okay, ladies! We know that you’re busy. It’s the holiday season and orders are rolling in. You gotta admit while amongst the stress of filling orders and keeping track of new holiday orders, it’s nice to have the new customers rolling on in. However, what if we told you that there's a way to easily keep track of all of these new customers and a way to market specifically to them to maximize your profits?

It’s Possible With UnitWise

UnitWise is the all inclusive business management solution that’s specifically designed for NSDs, Directors, and Independent Beauty Consultants in order to help them simplify managing their entire business, so they can have more time to focus on getting more sales and spend more time with their families.

Once you sign up with UnitWise you’ll gain access to tons of innovative features for inventory management, email marketing, accounting, customer management, and more.

Customer Management With UnitWise

By using UnitWise to manage your contacts you can quickly and simply import all of your contacts from InTouch and easily add new customers as they come along. Then you can sort them into groups based off of your preferences. For example, you can place all of your leads in a group, and all of your customers from New York in another group.

As you talk to your leads and customers you can add notes about them to their files and use your notes to build relationships with them. For example, if Deborah prefers being called Debbie you can take note of that. If Sheila has four kids you can ask her how the whole gang is, and if Tina is a University of South Carolina Alumni you can comment on how the Gamecocks are doing this football season.

Not only can you use notes to keep up with personal details about your clients, but you can also use them to document which skincare products or cosmetics they like. For example, if your home girl Debbie likes hand creams then you can add her to the hand care group.

Then you can send marketing emails to the entire hand care group with deals and coupons related to handcare products to let Debbie and others know about special promotions so they will be more likely to buy more products. If Debbie already likes the lotion why not introduce her to a sugar scrub?

Although, why stop at one product? Along with introducing Debbie to new products you can also upsell her on items. If she’s interested in the nourishing cream why not introduce her to the entire satin hands set that includes multiple products for soft and moisturized hands that will make Debbie feel like a queen.

Then over time you can start cross-selling products. Chances are that if you like soft hands then you also like soft feet, so you can send the hand care group that includes Debbie special deals about foot care products. You can send your foot care group information about the hand products as well, and then you’ll have more sales before you know it!

Try UnitWise Today!

Take a few seconds to sign up for your free 15 day trial with UnitWise, and instantly gain access to tons of time-saving, intuitive features, including the customer management tools which will help you build better relationships with your customers, increase customer revenues, help you cross-sell products, improve your upsells, and more.

Skincare Products Are Luxurious Last Minute Gifts

Happy holidays! You’ve been putting in some work, getting your holiday sales together and pushing inventory out. You’ve also been in go mode, skimming the mall and shops for gifts to surprise your loved ones.

However amongst the sea of mall Santas, deals, and holiday treats you might have forgotten someone on the list and you may not know exactly what to get them. Don’t panic and rush back to your favorite store that’s probably super crowded. Instead, treat them to a skincare product.

During the holiday hustle and bustle, people forget to spend time on themselves and can get buried under stress so a skincare product can remind them to slow down and treat themselves. It will also make them feel like a relaxed, pampered princess.

The Perfect Last Minute Skincare Gifts

When it comes to the face winter can be a harsh time with dry air and harsh icy winds that cause dry, cracking, red skin. Help your loved ones restore moisture to their skin with hydrating masks.

Masks can come in gel and clay forms, from bottles to be used multiple times, or in peel and clay form for one-time uses. They come with invigorating peppermint scents that provide a nice tingle.

A few masks get even more exciting because they have fun prints on them. The masks look like tigers, pandas, and more, so they’re fun for all ages to wear. Your niece who is around 13 can look like a tiger while her skin becomes moisturized.

Don’t forget about the lips! Winter does a number on them too. Luckily there are tons of moisturizing holiday lip sets to choose from. Each kit comes with exfoliating lip scrubs and hydrating glosses. They’re usually in shades of pink and red around this time of year. Scrubs can be exciting for those who are trying to discover more about makeup.

Hands are out there on the frontlines, getting cold, wet and tired while carrying gift bags, wrapping gifts, and baking. Someone with princess soft hands might feel like a lizard lady by the end of the season!

Surprise the hard working person in your life with items they may not consider getting for their own hands, like scrubs to exfoliate dry skin away. Make sure to include some holiday season lotion to hydrate their skin. Luckily all of this stuff can be found in prepackaged together in hand repair kits!

You know what’s great in the colder seasons in particular? Baths! You know who usually has bubble bath items on hand? Not very many people! Give your loved ones a relaxing soak with bubble baths, candles, and salts, so they can sneak away from their kids and the holiday chaos.

Have you seen what you can do with baths today? Bath bombs are simply unbelievable. You just drop them in warm water and they fill the entire tub with pretty colors, fragrances, glitter, bath salts, and more. There are oatmeal ones to moisturize the skin, ones with relaxing lavender scents, shimmering ones for the diva in your life.

Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, oh wait! The toes! While wearing boots and trekking through slush and frigid puddles feet can take a beating. Show your specials ones you care by getting them scrubs and lotions to return their feet to beautiful flip flop wearing condition.

Peppermint creams and relaxing sugar scrubs, along with a thick pair of warm socks will have them feeling relaxed in no time. These items also will come packaged together with an exfoliating scrubber included!

Cheers to Another Great Season!

You’ve had a successful 2016 and it’s time for Santa to arrive with gifts. Remember to take some time for yourself to relax. If you need to run out for any last minute gifts remember that skincare gifts are very thoughtful!

Happy holidays from the heroes at UnitWise.

Makeup For That Holiday Party

Ready or not, it’s time for that holiday party. Whether it’s a work party, family reunion, or intimate gathering with friends, it’s time to take a break from the day to day professional makeup and add some holiday glam to stand out as the most beautiful winter princess in the room.

Consider the following makeup tips to steal the eyes of your in-laws, jealous coworkers, frenemies, and more with a flawless holiday look.

Your Eyes

Ready to make your eyes really pop? Good! Start with a little mascara to open up your eyes and grab people’s attention. You can use fake lashes, volumizing mascara, or a clumping mascara to make your eyes stand out.

This isn’t the time for your daily eyeliner routine. Spice it up with wings or a longer cat eye look. You can also accent your eyeliner with glitter or nontraditional colors. White and blue eyeliners are in this season because they draw attention while brightening your eyes. However, you can also choose a silver, red, or green eyeliner for a festive holiday vibe.

Of course, the smokey eye is a classic go to look for eyeshadow, but your holiday party isn’t an everyday event so make it loud. Instead of your everyday matte shades of gray go with shimmering shades of gunmetal and metallic silvers. Also, accent your eyes with metallic shades of gold, yellows, browns to really shine.

Your Lips

You really can’t go wrong with a shade of red lipstick during the holiday season, but make sure it’s fierce and bold. Bright red shades of matte lipsticks will have all eyes on your radiant smile. However, don’t stop there. Experiment with shades of shimmering burgundy, glossy cranberry, or berry-stained shades of red too.

Everyone sort of expects a brilliant shade of red lips, so shock them by picking the bold shade of black cherry, purple, or even pale pink that you’ve been eyeing for awhile.

Why should you settle for just one color? It’s the time of year to stand out with fierce color, and that can be easily done with two-toned lips! Play with your shades of red, pinks, and purples to create an unforgettable look where your lips are lighter on the inside and darker on the outside.

Wait, wait, wait! Don’t forget that you’re naturally beautiful. Why even cover your beautiful lips when they already have breathtaking color? Simply apply a clear coat of lipgloss for an irresistible shine and confidently head out to that party.

Foundation and Blush

Alright, so your tan may have faded a little, that’s fine! Just be sure to make sure your winter foundation matches your skin tone. Always remember to switch foundations to match your skin tone with the changing seasons.

Ok, so you want to be tan, that’s also fine! Use a gradual tanner on your skin, and make sure that it looks natural, not too dark or orange. You can also go slightly darker than your foundation shade, but the key is to really not over do it.

The key to looking like a winter princess is to have an all natural looking, youthful blush with shades of pink, red, and peach. Use just a hint of it, and remember that blush is the easiest product to use too much of.

To go all natural and enhance your look with some contour powder or bronzer on your cheek bones. You can also use a highlighter.

Remember

Always practice new looks and techniques in advance! If you practice a new look the day of the party or close to an hour before you might end up with a look that you don’t want to haunt you in photographs posted on social media.

Also, don’t over do it. Too much color and shimmer can end up looking clown-like. If you go heavy on the eyes, go easy on the lips, or vice versa. No one knows your look better than you.

Happy Holidays

Don’t take that holiday party too seriously. Remember to cut loose and enjoy the season with good company and laughs. Have fun with your perfect holiday look full of shimmer and cheer!

Keep coming back to UnitWise for more makeup tips and tricks, and please post your makeup plan for the holiday season in the comment section.

Enhance Your Beauty Business With Email Marketing

We’re so proud of you for establishing your beauty consulting business. You’ve climbed the ranks from a unit member to an NSD, Director, or Independent Beauty Consultant. You became a sales machine as well as a leader to look up to. However, it’s time to grow your business and take it to the next level with the help of UnitWise and email marketing.

What it UnitWise?

UnitWise is the online business management solution that the beauty consulting industry has been waiting for. It takes the stress out of managing your entire business by providing easy-to-use features that simplify tracking your expenses, managing your social media accounts, managing your inventory, unit reports, email marketing, and more. By taking advantage of the features you’ll save time while staying on top of everything you need to keep track of and plan for.

Why is Email Marketing Important?

Email marketing extends your digital reach to not only new customers but to new businesses as well. It provides a means of communication from client to business and from business to business, that would otherwise not be there.

By providing your information and making it easier for new customers and other businesses to reach out to you, they’ll be more likely to reach out to you, or suggest your business to others. As a result, you'll build more of an online presence for your business and brand, and market it to a broader audience.

Just think about it, what's the one thing you do multiple times a day, even on the weekends? The answer is check your email. On a daily basis your customer base will be checking their inboxes for messages so why not send them an email about a special deal?

Customized sales emails will get customers on the hook, and once you send them a special offer they can’t resist they’ll click a link to your site, increasing not only your sales but the traffic to your homepage as well.

Although marketing emails aren’t just for the promotion of sales, they’re also a great way to spread the news about what’s happening with your business. Use them to announce promotions, share great news, or to promote your blog posts.

Email Marketing With UnitWise

Now, there’s no need to feel intimidated by email marketing, even if it seems difficult to create a professional looking email with photos and more because UnitWise makes the emailing process extremely simple.

UnitWise is full of dozens of pre-made email templates for you to choose from, where you can add as many personal photos or links that you want. All you have to do is simply drag and drop your images. You can also completely customize the colors of each email and save a template that you would like to reuse as many times as you would like.

You can also schedule emails to be sent out in advance, so you can quickly plan all your emails for the week, month, or even a year! This way you won’t forget about birthdays or anniversaries, and won’t have to rush to create a last minute email.

Everyone on your email list can be put in a custom group. For example, you can put all of your unit members in one group, all of your customers from Colorado in a group, and all of your leads in another group.

The possibilities are endless, and this is great because it allows you to create emails to target specific groups. For instance, if you know a particular group of people enjoys the hand repair kit you can send them a coupon for hand creams.

Plus, the emails are personalized with each of your client’s first names, and other email addresses are hidden, so each email will feel like it was personalized, just for them.

Best of all, UnitWise provides all of the necessary tools for you to see how well your emails are doing. You’ll receive detailed reports about how many people opened your emails, ignored them, went to your site, bought something, unsubscribed.

The results will help you pinpoint what sales your customers react the best to, what day of the week it’s best to send emails out on, and even the best time of day to send your emails. By taking a few minutes to study the results you’ll become the ultimate master of email marketing.

Fight Winter Dry Skin

The weather out there is frightful, but in here it’s also not very delightful, because when the heater runs and the fireplace glows, you get dried out from head to toe. When thinking about the winter season you may remember your beautifully decorated Christmas tree, delicious food, too much pie, and dazzling lights, but did you forget about your dry skin?

The cool air and snow may bring about winter beauty and magic, but it also dries out your skin causing redness, itching, dandruff, eczema, and more! Don’t let dryness ruin your winter wonderland, fight back against winter dryness instead with these helpful tips from UnitWise!

Your Head

Let’s start at the top, with your hair and scalp, otherwise, you could be brushing dandruff off your shoulders, or dealing with dry, frizzy hair all season long.

When the season takes a turn with bitter cold, rainy or snowy days be prepared with moisturizing shampoos on hand, like anti-dandruff or all natural tea tree oil shampoos to give your scalp a boost of moisture before the dry season hits. You should also invest is a deep penetrating conditioner.

Also, prior to showering, you can moisturize your scalp with an all-natural cream or oil mask. Peppermint oil, coconut oil, and olive oil are all popular to use before taking a shower.

Speaking of showers, take less of them. Invest in dry shampoo to clean and refresh your hair. The don’t wash your hair everyday train has already been going full speed for a while, so it’s time to hop on it.

To protect your hair from dryness avoid drying it as much as you can. Maybe wait a while before drying it to spend less time with the hair dryer, or throw your hair in a bun and wait for it to dry on its own.

One last thing, before going outdoors put on your cute winter cap to protect your hair and scalp from harsh winter temperatures and conditions.

Your Face

To keep your skin nice and moist it’s all about hydration, so step up your moisturizer game. Put it on morning and night. Also, put your summer moisturizer away to hibernate, and bust out a winter moisturizer. By that, we mean a moisturizer that’s oil-based, as it will help protect your skin from winter temperatures, the wind, and dryness. Usually ‘creams’ are oil based.

While washing your face or using a skin mask avoid ones with alcohol listed in the ingredients as it will really dry your skin out. Plus, be weary of clay masks that could suck the moisture right out of your pores.

Before going outside prep your skin with sunscreen. Winter actually has the harshest UV rays, and even though we’re cold and can’t feel them, they can do a number on our skin. The sun rays also reflect off of the snow and hit your face a second time, deepening its skin burning and drying effect.

Don’t forget about your lips. Nobody wants, dry, cracking, and burning lips because they could really kill the mistletoe vibe. Exfoliate any dead skin away with a dry toothbrush then hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Use lip creams, lipsticks, and chapsticks in the morning and take them with you to reapply all day. Try to find a brand that has an SPF of at least 15 to protect your lips from the sun.

Your Arms and Elbows

Winter, tis the season to be dry and itchy as eczema flares up all over your arms. Prevent your arms from drying out by taking shorter, lukewarm showers. I know during the winter all you want is a piping hot shower or bath, but they can really dry you out.

When you’re in the shower make sure you’re using a soft, gentle soap without chemicals like lye in it and only wash your necessary body parts like your armpits. Avoid soaping your extremities as it can cause your skin and elbows to become dehydrated.

Soak your skin in a lukewarm bath that has oatmeal in it. You can buy a premade bath bomb or grind your own oats to create a moisturizing solution to soak in. This will provide moisture for your arms, legs, hands, and feet!

After your shower or bathe when your skin and elbows are still moist apply lotion immediately. However, you may need to use an exfoliating elbow scrub before putting on lotion.

Keep it mind that it’s time to double up on the moisturizer regiment. Put on a deep moisturizing cream, lotion, oils like coconut, or vaseline twice a day. Avoid any scented fragrances or shimmering lotions that may irritate your skin.

Avoid heavy fabrics that weigh you down like wool, and wear a lightweight breathable fabric like cotton instead so your skin can breathe.

Bust out your humidifier. As you run the heat in your home you’ll be drying out the air, so use your humidifier to counteract some of the dryness. As a result, your skin will have more moisture and your sinus cavities may thank you.

Your Hands

Dry cracked hands can feel like a plague as they itch and burn with no relief, so be sure to keep your hands nice and soft with the following tips.

Wash your hands only when you absolutely need to, and when you do, use a soft gentle soap or a moisturizing soap. Then right after washing your hands put some lotion or vaseline on them, every time.

Put some lotion in your purse and carry it everywhere to protect yourself when winter dryness hits.

The winter elements can strike both inside your home and out, so be ready and protect your hands. When cleaning your home or doing the dishes wear a pair of rubber gloves to prevent chemicals and soaps from drying out your skin. When outdoors wear a pair of gloves to keep your hands dry and warm, out of the cold wind and snow. However, if your hands start to sweat to take your gloves immediately.

You can also exfoliate your hands with a sugar scrub to get rid of dry, hard skin, then moisturize after to really give your lotion time to sink in.

Before bed, you can seal in your lotion by slathering some on your hands then putting on soft cotton gloves or socks so the lotion won’t rub off. Instead, it will penetrate deeply to fight winter dryness.

Your Feet

For some reason when flipflops are put away and the boots come out we forget about our feet, but even though we can’t see them, they can still dry out.

Maintain foot moisture like the rest of the body, with a gentle soap, and by moisturizing after getting out of a lukewarm shower.

Also, remember to exfoliate your feet by using a soft brush or stone. Foot tools found at local stores work wonders for dry heels.

When moisturizing you can use your normal lotion, and vaseline is great to use as well, but there are also foot creams available filled with soothing items like tea tree oil, peppermint, and more.

When trekking through the winter conditions think about what you’re wearing. Shoes or boots that don’t rub or chafe your feet. You don’t want to create a foot sauna either. Do you really need fur-lined boots and 3 pairs of socks? Because that will generate a lot of heat that will dry your feet out. Keep them warm, yet cool. Plus, be sure to get your feet out of wet shoes or socks immediately.

Winter Wonder Skin

Don’t dry out and suffer from itchy, dry skin that may even burn a little. Enjoy your winter season, with soft, moisturized skin instead! Please be sure to share your moisturizing tips in the comment section below.

The Fuss About Blush

As most of you already know, blush is important. However, it often isn’t grouped with the rockstar, must-have products like eyeliner or lipstick. Blush just sits back there on the backburner as one of the products people can live without. This is highly unfortunate because blush does great things for your look and has been around for centuries.

The History of Blush

Nowadays makeup is the special treat for girls only, but way back in the day, seriously way back, thousands of years ago, both men and women in ancient Egypt wore eyeliner, lipstick, and most importantly, blush. They used red pigments from various berries and ground ochre to rub on their cheeks and lips to add pops of color with their dark eye makeup.

To be a sexy ancient Greek, you needed two things, pale skin, and lively rosy cheeks. The Greeks used mulberries to stain their cheeks red to achieve a lively, healthy glow.

Drawing on this fad, royalty all across Europe had pale skin and red cheeks. If you were tan that meant you were a peasant or a field worker. Royalty couldn’t have that, so they were dying to get their hands on some color.

Literally, dying. They painted their faces with white pastes made out of lead and vinegar. The ill effect of this makeup concoction was killing husbands left and right after they accidentally ingested some of it.

Then as Christianity rose, makeup took a decline. It as associated with prostitutes and seen as downright indecent. However, this didn’t stop British and French ladies from pinching their cheeks and using beet juice in secret to color their cheeks.

Soon enough Queen Elizabeth the first made makeup popular again, even though it came with risks. The arsenic, mercury, and other harmful chemicals in makeup turned skin gray, made hair fall out, caused miscarriages, and more.

Luckily for us, the FDA stepped in in the late 1800’s to regulate the ingredients found in blush and other makeup products to keep them safe for our skin. Then makeup companies really started to take off!

What Blush can do for Your Face

Blush is an important part of your makeup collection because it will:

  • Give you a healthy, natural glow.
  • Make you look younger.
  • Highlight your other features, like the perfect wingman.
  • Adds to your contour and shapes your face.
  • Defines your cheekbones, and more.

Finding Your Perfect Shade of Blush

It can be daunting to go into a makeup store and pick out a shade of blush, especially with so many different colors to choose from these days. Start with the color you like most, no one knows better about your individual style than you.

However, if you’d like a guide, those with paler collections should stick with light shades of pinks, peaches, and mochas.

Those on the more tan side should dabble with oranges and red.

If your skin is dark then check out the bold shades of vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges!

Types of Blush

Finding the right color is as equally important as finding the right type.

Powder blush is best for those with oily skin as it will help soak up moisture and easily glide across their cheeks, making it extremely easy for them to blend in.

Liquid blush is a good option for those with dry skin, as it won’t stick to wrinkles and will help hydrate the skin.

Cream and gel blushes are slightly thicker than liquid blush, and a little more dry. They easily glide on and are easy to blend.

Blush pencils are great for beginners because they can simply trace their cheekbones and add small amounts of color as needed, without over doing it.

How to Apply Blush

Blush is very simple to apply. First, put your primer and foundation as normal then either smile or suck your cheeks in to make a fishy face. Wherever your cheeks have a curve or an ‘apple’ is where you should apply your blush.

Trace your cheek bone, but make sure that you don’t go past your nostrils or the corners of your eyes.

Use a wide angled brush and an angle and gently blend your blush in small circles. Knock any excess blush off of the brush prior to blending to avoid using too much.

If you use too much blush, don’t panic or frantically wipe off your face. Take a dry cloth or tissue and blot your cheeks to soak up some of the color.

Be a Blush pro

Now you have all the blush facts from a little history to how to put it on. Spread your blush knowledge and make sure this neglected beauty product gets the attention and use that it deserves!

Clients, unit members, and sales leads, oh my! As an NSD, Director, or Independent Beauty Consultant you have tons of different contacts. How do you keep up with them all?! Do you flip through your address book to hunt down a number? Is your phone overloaded with contacts? Do you manually enter everyone into an excel sheet?

Those methods all seem frustrating and time-consuming. You should consider managing your contacts with UnitWise instead.

UnitWise is the number one business management solution with contact management software that’s specifically designed for NSDs, Directors, and Independent Beauty Consultants to help them effectively manage their beauty consulting businesses. A few of UnitWise’s easy-to-use features include accounting, inventory management, marketing emails, contact management, and more.

Contact Management With UnitWise

First things first, you need to upload your contacts to UnitWise! Luckily, this a simple, stress-free process because you can instantly sync your contacts from Intouch, and add new contacts one at a time.

The contacts are already somewhat sorted. All of your contacts are listed in ABC order while consultants have a green label and customers have a red one. For example, you can pull up all of your North Carolina contacts at once by searching ‘North Carolina’.

With UnitWise you can send emails, text blasts, and host conference calls with an unlimited amount of people, but it’s important to have those contacts organized so you don’t have to comb through long lists to add them to your email or call list.

This is where UnitWise really comes in handy because it already has a few premade lists for you to add your contacts to. For example, a few of the categories include active customers and team members.

By having organized groups you can instantly send an email update to your entire Unit or set up a conference call with your local business associates.

However, you don’t have to use the premade groups. You can organize your contacts exactly the way you want. Add them to a group called “Leads” or “New Unit Members”. You can even add your contacts to groups based off of their zip code or location.

We suggest grouping your customers by product preferences. For example, if a lot of your customers enjoy the Satin Hands Care set add them to a group and send them marketing emails with discounts or about new hand scrubs and creams when they come out.

Organizing groups for your customers based off of where they came from is another way to keep your contacts organized to see what areas of your business are gaining the most traffic. When you get a new customer from Facebook advertising or a makeup party simply add them to the group they belong in.

Why are you Waiting?

Take advantage of UnitWise’s free 15-day trial to see how its state-of-the-art features will help you efficiently manage and organize your business. You’ll be able to check in on every aspect of your business while on-the-go, right from your smartphone or tablet to stay on top of things, with an endless amount of way to organize all of your contacts.

Turkey Day Makeup Tips

Thanksgiving is less than a week away, are you prepared to look flawless for your turkey day feast? Think about it, you’ll be going home to see your grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, siblings, and more, so why not give them a beautiful made up face to remember you by?

Plus, family time means photo time. You’ll be in tons of photos with your relatives that will make their way all across social media for everyone on your friend’s list to see, so don’t get caught off guard.

When you go home you’ll be returning to an area where the possibilities of running into someone you know is extremely high. Old neighbors, friends from high school, old teachers, and maybe even your ex(s) may appear, so by having a flawless look you can show them that you’re doing great.

Also, they may ask what you’re wearing giving you the opportunity to push your cosmetics and make sales.

Turkey Day Makeup Tips:

Don’t try something new unless you give yourself time to practice in advance. New makeup techniques and products can be time-consuming to put on, and time is something that there just isn't enough of during the holiday cooking and cleaning rush. Plus, the new look could go wrong, causing you to look a little off and stand out.

However, you can add a little new color and glam to spice things up. Thanksgiving time is all about reds, earth tones, pinks, browns and more. Add shades of cranberry red, orange, or browns to the top of your eyelids, and compliment them with shades of white and beige.

The smokey eye is an easy look to pull off, but instead of using dark and lighter shades of mix things up with dark greys and shades of metallic earth tones.

Also, add some glam to your look by using the shimmering shades that you usually avoid on a daily basis when you have to go to the office or run errands. The holiday season is your time to pop with glitter.

Running around the home to take care of children, nieces, and nephews, cleaning the home, and spending the night before and day of cooking can be exhausting, but you don’t want to look tired, even when you’re worn out. That’s why you should use a nude eyeliner to balance out your red eyeshadow, and then use mascara to open your eyes with a big, energetic look.

Our tans are almost completely faded away, but the people viewing your photos on social media don’t have to know that. Try going a shade darker with your foundation and concealer to give yourself a warm, natural glow. However, be extremely careful not to go too dark!

The turkey won’t be the only thing stuffed! We know everyone indulges and fills up on Thanksgiving, but how will you keep your look intact? Easy, use a primer before applying your makeup, so it will last longer and use a setting spray afterward.

As far as your lips go, pick a nice shade of seasonal red in either a long lasting lipstick or lip stain. You can also put a clear coat of lipgloss on to keep your lip color intact. This way you won’t have to be running off every five minutes to reapply your lipstick.

Is your grandma conservative? If so, we don’t want you to worry her by showing up with too much makeup on. You can give yourself a beautiful natural glow with soft shades of pinks, nudes, and peach. As a result, you’ll look amazing while grandma spoils you with her secret pie recipe.

Brighten Your Smile

As an NSD, director, or independent beauty consultant you’ll have a lot of face to face interaction in order to lead your unit and get more sales at events or makeup parties. Therefore, you’ll need to look your best, with confidence and positive attitude. One simple way to do that is with a bright, friendly smile.

The Benefits of a Nice Smile

Even though it seems necessary for everyone to straighten their teeth with braces or retainers, each smile is unique, and it’s often the one feature people remember after meeting someone new. Smiles are visual business cards that clients use to remember you with, so make sure your smile is good.

A nice smile helps you represent yourself as a positive and confident person who takes the time to take care of themselves. Darkened teeth can often give you the appearance of being lazy, with poor health.

Bright smiles also build trust and gain attention from customers, so they’ll be more likely to buy as you win more people over.

With a brighter smile you’ll come off as charming and because smiles are contagious you’ll spread a happy feeling around the room.

How to Naturally Whiten and Protect Your Teeth

If you don’t have time for teeth whitening treatments and wish to avoid harmful chemicals like bleach, don’t worry! There are a number of small changes you can make to your daily routine to naturally brighten up your smile.

First be sure to avoid the things that make your teeth darker. We aren’t saying you have to give up dark drinks like coffee, dark sodas, and red wine, but drink them in moderation. Also, brush your teeth about 30 minutes after consuming a dark beverage to avoid stains.

You could switch from coffee to green tea for the same amount of energizing caffeine, with antioxidants, without the stains. You can also drink dark beverages with a straw so they won’t hit your teeth.

Try and take some sugar out of your diet, as it creates acid that eats away at enamel and causes bacterial infections that lead to cavities.

Don’t smoke! We can’t stress this enough, but simply don’t smoke. Smoking stains teeth, causes bad breath, harms the gums, and can lead to various oral cancers.

Brush your teeth and floss more. Flossing on a daily basis will remove bacteria before it turns into plaque build up and brushing your teeth about 30 minutes after every snack or meal will keep your breath fresh and clean.

Don’t forget to brush your tongue and use mouthwash twice daily to remove bacteria and germs.

Swishing with peroxide helps to remove surface stains as it bubbles and oxygenates. Peroxide also kills bacteria and is often found in many over the counter teeth cleaning products. Just remember to never swallow it, and rinse thoroughly after use.

Baking soda is another household item that can naturally whiten your teeth. Apply a little to your toothbrush and watch as it helps your toothpaste scrub away discoloration.

Why not use both? Combine a teaspoon of peroxide with a little baking soda and mix it until it gains the consistency of toothpaste and brush your teeth with it. Leave it on for one minute then thoroughly rinse.

Haven't you heard about the amazing benefits of coconut oil? Well, it even whitens teeth. It’s an acid-free method that doesn’t harm enamel. Swish it around in your mouth for about 20 minutes for the best results, you can do this while in the shower or while watching tv. As you swish the oil it pulls bacteria away from your teeth and gums.

Also, you can simply add a few drops to your toothbrush. Just remember to spit out your coconut oil in the trash, because if spat into the sink or drain it could become solid again and clog your pipes.

Apple cider vinegar is also a relatively new health trend. Adding it to a little water and swishing it around will kill infectious bacteria from your teeth and gums, remove stains, and eliminate bad breath. However, apple cider vinegar is acidic so rinse your mouth after use.

Got an orange or lemon around the house? Great! Use the peel or rind as an abrasive material to wipe away stains from your teeth.

Also, eat strawberries, apples, and pineapples, because they naturally clean your teeth and are excellent, healthy snacks. Some people even smash strawberries into a paste and leave it on their teeth for a few minutes to lift stains.

Protect your teeth by getting enough calcium, which prevents bone loss and tooth decay. Add calcium to your diet by eating a variety of different cheeses, broccoli, green beans, leafy greens, yogurt, low-fat milk, and more.

Vitamin D also helps to prevent tooth decay and cavities and you can get it naturally from the sun. Take a walk around lunch time to soak up some rays. To add more vitamin D to your diet eat mushrooms, fish, fortified cereals, and eggs.

Use That Smile

Everyone in the beauty consulting industry has a beautiful, unique smile that can be used to their advantage. Be sure to take care of your teeth and flash your pearly white to your unit members and clients in order to get more sales and be seen as a positive, confident leader.

What You Should Know About Email Marketing With UnitWise

People check their emails a few times a day, at least once a night, and even a few times on the weekend. As a result, email inboxes provide a place for you to market your business because customers will check their emails multiple times a day with or without receiving a message from you.

As an NSD, director, or independent beauty consultant you should take advantage of the free space to market your business with your own marketing emails. Also, you can send out emails about promotions and special deals as a hook to get people to buy more products online. You can even entice people to buy more items by putting a time limit on a deal and sending out an email that suggests buying now before time runs out.

Best of all, email marketing is cheap. It’s a way to reach a major audience to extend your online presence. It’s the best bang for your buck because it will get you more attention and conversions than marketing through social media.

Have you ever wanted to give your emails a professional look like it was crafted by a skilled graphic director? With UnitWise you can, because UnitWise has pre-made email templates for you to choose from.

That’s why UnitWise provides detailed email marketing reports that list the rate of email deliveries, opens, bounce rates, and unsubscribes, so you can view in easy-to-read charts if your email was successful or not.

By viewing these reports you’ll quickly discover if certain subject lines do better than others, which promotions get the best reaction, what days of the week are the best to send emails out on, and the best time of day for sending emails.

The Gayle Story: A Tale of Mary Kay Success

Today we have a special feature to celebrate one of UnitWise’s successful Mary Kay Independent Sales Directors, Gayle Hibbert. She quickly climbed the ranks from simply selling cosmetics as a hobby to becoming an Independent Sales Director, while using UnitWise and more recently, MyUnitBuzz.

Gayle is truly an inspiration with her tale of Mary Kay success. Read her story to see how you can boost sales and grow your business with the help of UnitWise and MyUnitBuzz.

How Gayle got Started

Gayle started selling products as a hobby after her daughter recruited her. Gayle signed up to give her and her daughter something to share, given she had recently relocated to Colorado from Tennesse where her daughter lived. Selling skin care and cosmetics actually turned out to be a great opportunity for both of them; however, Gayle wasn't selling products full time.

Gayle had no intention of working her business full time. She initially agreed to join her daughter's team after trying the skin repair set since the elements in Colorado are rough on the skin.

Using the Mary Kay skin care products was a great idea because it got her in the game to begin working her business more full time. Now she’s an Independent Sales Director with 34 unit members all over the country and enjoys going to Seminar with her daughter, who she’s encouraging to become a Director as well.

Gayle and UnitWise

UnitWise is the comprehensive web-based program specifically designed for NSDs, directors, and independent beauty consultants. It's full of time-saving features to help you manage your inventory, create marketing emails, keep track of online payments, store information for your unit, and more.

Gayle actually discovered UnitWise while attending Seminar, because her National Sales Director was there using the program. That fact that her NSD was using the app really built her confidence in it, so she decided to give it a try for herself.

UnitWise helped to overcome her marketing frustrations. It helps Gayle keep track of her unit members, which are scattered across different states. UnitWise also helps her and her unit stay organized and up to date with new events and information. Best of all, UnitWise focuses on the entire business, not just the products.

With UnitWise, Gayle doesn’t have to be attached to her computer or keep up with tons of different files, because it is a mobile program that she can upload her entire database to. No matter where she is the information she needs is on her mobile phone, right at her fingertips.

According to Gayle and her unit members, UnitWise is incredibly easy to use, and they all love it. Plus, Gayle found that UnitWise has an incredible support team. They take their time to answer her questions, and they’re very explanatory. If she finds a problem then it’s fixed within a few hours and the heroes at UnitWise really listen to her and take her suggestions seriously. Plus, they even took the time to help her customize her personal site.

When asked about her favorite UnitWise features Gayle explained that she enjoys the event calendar, because it provides a place for her unit members to grab important dates on their own. Also, it provides a central location for pertinent documents and important training materials for her unit members to access at any time.

Gayle and MyUnitBuzz

MyUnitBuzz is the total communication app designed to make it easier for directors to connect and communicate with their unit members. It’s full of intuitive features for group messaging, scheduling events, updating social media on the go, motivating your unit members, and more.

Gayle was a little reluctant to download MyUnitBuzz at first because she didn’t want to overwhelm her unit with a new program, but she said it was actually a ‘piece of cake’ to download and use.

This communication app helps Gayle to stay connected with her team and makes it easy to quickly respond to inquiries and send out group messages. She uses the app to keep her Mary Kay photos separated from her personal ones and enjoys how MyUnitBuzz is an on-the-go version of the website that puts important information in the palms of her unit’s hands.

Morgan, Gayle’s new assistant, explained how it’s extremely easy to upload and access important documents, and Gayle often tells her unit members that everything they need is in the app.

MyUnitBuzz helps Gayle lead her unit because it fills the communication gap that often occurs between directors and their unit members. Other apps, like InTouch, don’t offer communication.

Gayle explained that one of biggest challenges that new consultants face is trying to find and read training materials, but because MyUnitBuzz keeps everything in one place it's extremely helpful when new members join the unit. They save time and don’t have to spend hours researching to learn about the beauty consulting industry.

Also, Gayle shared that it’s important to invest in your team. She doesn’t know how directors lead without a central hub to keep information in and to communicate with. Gayle really wishes that she had these tools when she was first starting out because they really help to simplify managing and organizing her business.

Try UnitWise and MyUnitBuzz Today

UnitWise and MyUnitBuzz are both incredible programs that simplify every aspect of business management in the beauty consulting world. They will help you market and promote your business, help you keep track of your inventory, simplify communicating with your unit members, allow you to easily share important documents, and more.

If you’re a UnitWise member, you and your unit can download MyUnitBuzz and access its features for free. Not a part of the UnitWise family? That’s fine, you can download the app and access its features for a small monthly fee of $2.95, and it will be free for your unit members.

However, we offer a free trial period of 15 days for both UnitWise, and MyUnitBuzz, so you can see how their revolutionary features will help you grow and manage your business without any obligations.

How to Keep Your Customer's Attention

As an NSD, director, or independent beauty consultant you’ll often be in front of a crowd, either to present something to your unit members or to sell cosmetics at an event or makeup party. Unfortunately, people can zone out fast, with distractions all around them. For example, at makeup parties, most people are coming after a long day of work, and have food, drinks, their phones, and their friends as distractions all around them.

Don’t miss out on important sales because your audience gets bored! Use the following tips to learn how to engage your audience and keep their attention in order to get more sales and to gain new repeat customers.

How to Get Your Client’s Attention

First of all, go into your meeting or presentation prepared. Never wing it when public speaking is involved. If you have a plan you’ll be more confident and comfortable with addressing a room.

You can prepare by going over the new products you plan to introduce, and by putting yourself in your audience's shoes. What do they want to learn about?

Also, wear something bright and attention grabbing. Studies suggest that red is a popular color that attracts attention. Try wearing red lipstick, a red blouse, or red jewelry to fill the room with energy.

Carry yourself tall, with good posture to look confident and greet everyone with a big, genuine smile. When you speak be loud and energetic, with high energy and strong voice. Keep your presentation short, but don’t rush through it.

Be sure to know what you’re going to talk about and avoid saying words like, um, uh, or like. These words can really make you lose people.

Mention the benefits of your products and hook people with words they want to hear, like free, discount, or instantly.

Consider opening your presentation with a memorable quote. Good quotes actually played a major for Mary Kay’s success, and they’re still being used today.

How to Keep Your Client’s Attention

To keep everyone’s attention during your presentation make eye contact to connect with people. Eye contact is usually a great way to get people to put down their phones and tune into what you have to say.

Don’t be sedentary. Move around your presentation space and make hand gestures while you talk. People could get bored pretty quickly if you sit still in one place.

Keep your presentation entertaining and avoid speaking in a monotone voice. Add jokes or personal stories to your speech to seem relatable to your clients. Also, dial up your excitement at different points to re-engage your audience.

If you notice someone drifting away to imagination land bring them back by pausing your presentation to give them a direct compliment. This will break the 4th wall and invite people into your talk, so they’ll feel like they’re apart of it, and not like they’re simply observing from the sidelines.

Another way to engage your audience is by asking them questions. Ask questions that are related to what you’re talking about or about their morning makeup routine or how they’re applying their eyeshadow to give them new and helpful techniques.

4 ways to get More Sales as a Beauty Consultant

How are your sales for 2016 going? As an NSD, director, or independent beauty consultant the sky's the limit, and you can always up your game. In the beauty consulting world, there is always another rung on the ladder to climb in order to reach new levels of success.

With a little hard work and motivation, your sales will go through the roof, especially with the help of the following tips.

1. Offer a Referral Program

Have you ever received an email stating that if you get 3 or more of your friends to sign up for something then you’ll get a free item? These emails serve as an effective marketing tool that not only gets your attention but also gets the attention of your friends because often times people will try to refer their friends to get a reward.

Referral programs a marketing technique that gets loyal customers to suggest your products and services to their friends and family members, leading to more sales and customers. Plus, the creative possibilities for referral programs are endless. Use your creative juices to come up with new and interesting ways to get referrals.

For example, you can say that for every 4 friends that your client conveniences to come to a makeup party they’ll receive 15% off of their total order. Also, you could say for every 3 friends they get to signup for your email blasts they’ll receive a free shade of lipgloss.

2. Be Honest

People aren’t interested in hour long back stories or amazing claims about makeup, like this product will ‘make you look 15 years younger!’ Instead, people will respond better when you cut to the chase, with straight forward facts.

Remember that attention spans are brief, so tell your clients about new products and special deals before their attention turns to their friends or the snacks and beverages at your makeup party.

Also, by telling people what makeup can realistically do, like concealer can cover blemishes, their confidence will build and they’ll be more likely to buy.

3. Prep Your Promotions

You never know when an opportunity to promote your business will strike. While in the grocery store, or out to dinner you may hear people discussing their makeup needs, so be prepared to jump in with your business card to hand out to them. By giving people your business card they’ll have your business name and contact information all in one place.

Also, by taking a few minutes to plan out your online promotions for the week you can create a promotion plan involving emails, and social media. Simply create your email promotion or social media

post in advance and schedule them to go out in different ways. This way you don’t have to spend time working on daily posts.

4. Organize Workshops

To build trust and grow a larger customer base sometimes it’s best to provide with informational content instead of pushing sales 110% of the time. If people remember you as a valuable source of knowledge then they’ll keep coming back with questions and you can convert them into repeat customers.

Set up workshops to teach clients about your products and how to be successful. Facebook live and YouTube are excellent outlets for makeup videos and tutorials. Also, you can post your content on all of your social media and personal websites to promote yourself and your business.

Boost Your Sales With UnitWise

You can climb the ladder all the way to the top with a little inspiration and hard work. By promoting your business, building your online presence, and sharing valuable information you’ll generate more interest in your business, which ultimately leads to more sales.

Save time by using UnitWise the online business management solution specifically designed for NSDs, directors, and independent beauty consultants to management your business. It has innovative features for email marketing, inventory management, contact management, online payments and more, so you can save time and focus on other aspects of your business.

Simple Makeup Tips for Beginners

As an NSD, director, or independent beauty consultant we know that you’re on your game. You’re an established makeup pro, with a flawless face fit for the beauty consultant big league. However, even though makeup may have come naturally to you, and you’ve enjoyed it as a hobby, it just doesn’t come simply to some people.

As you throw makeup parties and spend time with individuals for personal consultations you’ll run into more makeup beginners than you expect. By taking the time to explain simple makeup tips to them you’ll build their confidence and could even turn them into lifelong customers.

Follow the easy makeup tips below to teach your potential clients everything they need to know about makeup.

Foundation and Highlights

It’s a natural instinct to think that foundation is the first item that you apply, but actually, it’s important to wash your face first, to scrub away dead skin cells, for smooth, even skin. Next, it’s time to apply moisturizer and let it dry.

Then you may think you’re foundation ready, but there is actually another step involving primer, which people who are new to makeup often don’t know about. Primer is a cream or serum that smooths the skin and fills in lines and pores so you can put on your foundation evenly. It also makes your makeup last longer during the day.

Once your primer dries it’s time to apply foundation with a brush or sponge. Make sure your shade of foundation matches your skin by testing it on your cheeks. The right shade will blend right in.

Apply your foundation by putting a little of it onto a sponge or brush and gently dab it on your skin while blending it in with small circles. Start around your nose and work your way outwards and remember to blend past your jawline so your face matches your neck.

If foundation feels too heavy or cakey a BB or ‘blemish balm’, which is a lighter tinted cream that will give your face the coverage you want.

After you put on your foundation or BB cream use a concealer, which has more of a pigmented color to cover any blemishes, pimples, or dark spots. Also, use concealer under your eyes to cover any discoloration.

Bronzer can be a little intimidating, at first, but it’s actually quite simple to use and will give your skin a sunkissed look. When picking a shade don’t go too dark, especially if you have light skin. Then use it in the shape of a 3 on your face, start at the temple, then go to the jaw bone, and finally the chin and blend it in. You can also use primer on your nose and jawline to highlight your face.

Finally, set your makeup with a translucent powder so your foundation will last all day without a heavy, cakey look.

All About Blush

As newcomers approach blush they often have a ton of questions, like what color they should use, or where exactly does blush go? Luckily these questions are easy to answer.

First, you need to decide your preference between liquid, cream, or powder blush. The cream form is growing in popularity because it helps to moisturize and hydrate skin.

When it comes to color people with fair skin should stick with light shades of pink and coral, people with medium should like for brighter shades of pink, bronze pink, and peach. People with darker complexions can experiment with bright magentas, purples, and oranges. Beginners should stick with matte colors before testing out shades with shimmer or glitter.

Once you’re ready to apply your blush put a little on the end of a brush and gently apply it at the end of your cheekbone. Blend it with small circles and work you way forward to cover the apple of your cheek. Your blush should go diagonally along your cheekbone, but it should never go past your nostrils.

Blend your blush to make sure that there are no hard lines, and if you put too much on, don’t panic. Simply add a little more foundation or concealer over your blush.

Perfect Eyes

Usually, people who aren’t used to makeup don’t like objects around their eyes, so eyeliner can be daunting. If nothing else, push mascara because it’s easy to apply and will make your eyes bigger and brighter.

Generally, when beginning with eyeliner the pencil form is the easiest to use, but it does take practice to master a steady hand to draw eyeliner across the top lid. You can simplify the process by making dots across your eyelid and then connecting them.

If some of your clients want to jump right out of the gate with liquid eyeliner that looks as perfect as Adele’s advise them to use a stencil until they master a steady hand.

To tackle eyeshadow newbies need a palette full of matte Earth tones to play with until they become comfortable with bolder colors. Lighter shades go around the inner corners of the eye, and along the brow bone. Medium shades go in the eyelid crease, and dark shades go in the lower corners.

Most of the time eyebrows get forgotten, even though they’re an important part of the face. Recommend using an eyebrow pencil to fill in thin brows, and eyebrow gel to hold them in place.

Flawless Lips

We honestly don’t know why lipstick intimidates new users, it’s easy to put on and it’s hard to pick the wrong color. The safest way to experiment with new colors is with lipstick. Plus, they have shades of lipstick with matte, shimmering, and glossy finishes, the possibilities are endless.

Simply start by applying chapstick to hydrate your lips and to exfoliate dead skin away so you’ll be able to trace your lips for a smooth finish.

Lip gloss is alternative with more natural color. It also has a lighter weight to it than lipstick, doesn’t stain teeth, and even comes in scented varieties to give your face a good scent. However, lipstick generally lasts longer than lipgloss.

With lip liner, the trick is to use a sharp pencil and warm it up by drawing a little on your wrist, so it will easily glide on. You can use a nude color to enhance your natural look or shades of pink and red to compliment your lipstick. Trace the outside of lips, then add your lipstick and blend your lip liner and lipstick together with a lipstick brush. As a result, your two-toned lips will appear bigger.

For a pop of subtle color, you can put a clear gloss over your lips. Also, a coat of clear gloss will provide a nice shine help your lipstick last longer during the day.
